A look back at the recent CABMM Scientific Seminar Mini-Series
Feline hypertrophic cardiomyopathy - a holistic approach to define a natural animal model of a frequent human condition.
The latest CABMM Scientific Seminar mini-series ran throughout the months of March and April 2026. Each of the four webinars was well attended by both practitioners, and veterinary students, and interested parties from other disciplines. The overarching topic was Feline hypertrophic cardiomyopathy - a holistic approach to define a natural animal model of a frequent human condition. Each week’s webinar delved into an aspect of feline hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), cumulating in the final webinar, where all of the series’ presenters brought home how feline HCM could be understood as a translational model with learnings for human medicine and vice versa.
CABMM organized the series in collaboration with CABMM member and Director of the Institute of Veterinary Pathology, Vetsuisse Faculty, University of Zurich, Prof Anja Kipar. She enrolled all of the presenters from the Veterinary Cardiac Pathophysiology Consortium (VCPC) where she is also a group leader.
CABMM extends its thanks to all of the presenters and attendees. It was heartening to see so many attendees from international institutions from afar also joining. A summary of each webinar is provided here.
